Someday i'm going to understand America. Until then, I have this blog.

50 notes &

pride

Normally, I don’t like parades. If I’m with a group of people, I want to be talking not cheering.

But I was bummed to miss this year’s Pride Parade. I had a wedding in Rhode Island. For once, so much to celebrate!

When I got back to the city, I felt like I’d missed a giant party in my neighborhood.

Which is kind of exactly what happened.

In case you couldn’t make it to Greenwich Village this weekend, here is what you’d have seen if you, too, returned home when the parade was over but the energy was just winding down.

And I thank Laura Fitch for reminding us city folk who don’t leave our bubble that it’s not like this everywhere. And that there’s lots of progress to be made.

Hope you had a good weekend!
