Please meet my Uncle Don. I had the good fortune to visit him last weekend in Virginia. What an interesting guy—I took this for granted as a dum-dum kid! Uncle Don has been a teacher in the Bronx, a cab driver in New York City, a lawyer, a husband, a father, and (the pinnacle of it all) a contributor to this blog. Perhaps you recall his review of Young Adult, or his musings on cell phone use in public?
For kicks, I asked him what one piece of advice he’d give my generation, either for life or for this weekend. (Obviously, a totally normal question to ask anyone.) His advice? “Look up from your iPhone while you’re walking so you don’t trip or bump into somebody/something.”
